Why I Walk
Dementia is close to my heart.
In 2014, after a long and emotional battle, we lost my grandpa. When a family member is diagnosed, it's the beginning of a long journey that brings both laughter and tears. I am so thankful for the time we had and the small moments we were able to share together as the disease progressed.
This past summer, I began working for the Alzheimer Society of Toronto and it has opened my eyes to the diverse experiences of people living with dementia and their families and friends. The programs and services offered at AST are truly amazing. Whether it's grooming horses or woodworking, educating Personal Support Workers and the community, or providing respite services, AST truly makes a difference.
By making a donation to me today, you are helping the Alzheimer Society of Toronto provide supportive care, educational programs, and fund innovative research.
It would mean the world to me and my grandpa, to be a part of the huge impact AST has on the thousands living with dementia in Toronto.
This one's for you Gramper.
