Welcome to Renza's Page
My mother was diagnosed with Alzheimer's several years ago and she is battling the disease as my grandmother did years earlier. It has been very difficult for me to speak about the impact Alzheimer's has had on my mother and my family as each day that unfolds is different and yet always quite emotional. We are living the moment, trying to be patient and appreciating any spark of memory that presents itself; we are making treasured memories for ourselves except for my mother who is unable to retain them. She cries and we cry but we try to laugh and sing and go for walks which she loves to do. I am walking for my mother and in memory of the incredibly energetic, independent, wonderful and caring human beings that my mother and grandmother were before Alzheimer's.
Being able to remember is a special gift we have and we only realize how special once it begins to fade. Let's make our memories unforgettable. Please support this important cause by pledging me for my 12th Walk for Memories to be held on February 2, 2019.
Thank you for your generosity.
