2020/2021 has been a difficult year for us all. As I reflect on the difficulties that we have all faced, I can not imagine someone like my grandfather who has had to deal with all the covid 19 restrictions while struggling with Alzheimer's. To reflect these added burdens, this year I am challenging myself to do more than I did last year. Last year I ran 87 km, 1 km representing each year of my grandfather’s life. On Saturday, April 10th I will be running 88 miles, that’s 142 km with the support of my husband Danny Nelson and my friend Mickey Scott (another local ultrarunner) , to honour my Grandfather Jim Haas Sr and to raise money for the Alzheimer’s Society of Oxford.
I hope to start at 6am and look forward to pushing myself for a great cause!
