Thank you for visiting my fundraising page in support of Alzheimer's. During the pandemic, most fundraising events have been cancelled and charities need our help more than ever to carry on their good work. I chose to create my own event to raise funds for Alzheimer's, having lost an uncle to this disease and knowing many friends who have cared for family members with Alzheimer's.
When I turned 65 last October, I decided I wanted to run the Paris Half-marathon (21.1k) in March 2020. Sadly, the race was cancelled 24 hours before the start time. I still wanted to do something special while I was 65 and decided to run virtual races of increasing distances: 5k, 10k, 15k, 21.1k and a marathon (42.2k). I have already completed the first four distances, and recently, I found a virtual race (The County Marathon) that has a option to run as far as you want/can in 24 hours. When I saw on the website that I could raise funds for a charity of my choice, I decided to run at least the marathon distance and to raise funds for Alzheimer's research. I invite you to support this crazy venture of mine and to help out an important charity.
