This month, we challenge YOU to walk as much as you can to support the 240,000 Ontarians living with Alzheimer's disease and other forms of dementia. We kindly ask residents to seek donations from families and friends for this important cause. An individual donation of $24 will help support Ontarians living with the disease and the families who support them. Our ultimate goal is to reach 240,000 steps as a community.
Walking has been proven to improve oxygen flow to the brain, increase brain volume. You can walk around the building, or through the hallway. We just ask that you keep walking for your health and for others!
Throughout the month, we invite you to attend workshops held by the Alzheimer Society of Toronto to give you a better understanding of dementia (more specifically Alzheimer's disease), eliminate the stigma and mitigate your own risk of developing this disease.
All proceeds from this fundraiser will go to the Alzheimer Society of Toronto, an organization that supports people living with Alzheimer's and other forms of dementia, and their caregivers.
Speak to Recreation at Presentation Manor if you have any more questions regarding this fundraiser.
Hope to see everyone walking!
