National Skate Day for Alzheimer's (January 14, 2023)

National Skate Day for Alzheimer's

Steve McNeil has had the honour of traveling across Canada twice, skating 34 times in some of the coolest places in our country. Starting in January, the second Saturday each year, will be National Skate Day for Alzheimer's where everyday Canadians can skate in their own community while being part of the national movement.

This year, Steve will be skating in Kingston, Ontario.  He will skate for 19 hours and 26 minutes in memory of his mother who lived with, and died from, Alzheimer's disease.  1926 is the year she was born.

Event Date: January 14, 2023

Location of Event: Arenas & Frozen Ponds across our region

By taking part in National Skate Day for Alzheimer's, Canadians can help to reduce the stigma associated with Alzheimer's disease, and other forms of dementia and raise funds to support programs and services offered by the local Alzheimer Society.
