On Monday evening, my Nonno, Tony Cisternino, passed away. Nonno was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s about five years ago. Ironically, January is Alzheimer’s awareness month. In an effort to honour his memory, I will be participating in the Alzheimer’s Society “Quest for Kindness” where I will participate in an assortment of at least 30 random acts of kindness in order to raise $1000 for Alzheimer’s research and programs to help patients and families. “Kindness” was chosen for this fundraiser because those suffering with Alzheimer’s/dementia often feel alone, isolated and lost - needing kindness more than anything else.
