Q: When and where is the Walk?
A:The 30th Anniversary Walk is on Saturday, February 1, 2020. It is a 2.5km “loop” and is an indoor walk taking place in the underground PATH. The start AND finish location are at the Sheraton Centre Toronto Hotel at 123 Queen Street West, Toronto.
Q: How do I get to the Walk?
A: Arriving by TTC:
Take the TTC to Queen or Osgoode subway station and follow signs to the Sheraton Centre Toronto Hotel.
Arriving by car:
Underground parking accessible on Queen Street West and follow signs to the Sheraton Centre Toronto Hotel.
Q: Is there parking?
A: Yes, there is parking on site at the Sheraton Centre Toronto Hotel as well as underground parking at Toronto City Hall, which connects directly to the Sheraton Centre Toronto Hotel.
Q: Where is coat check?
A: Coat check will be available at the start location, Sheraton Centre Toronto Hotel.
Q: Can I stay at the hotel the night before?
A: Absolutely! We encourage everyone who is able to, to stay overnight Friday, January 31. Hotel rooms will be offered at a discounted rate to participants of the Walk. Book your discounted hotel room here.
Q: What can I do Friday night at the hotel?
A: Whether you are staying overnight with family or friends, you are all OUR family. You are invited to join our “Family Night” at the Sheraton Centre Toronto Hotel for a buffet dinner, games, activities, great giveaways and lots more. You don’t wat to miss out!*
*Only participants staying over at the hotel are able to attend “Family Night”.
Q: Can my child register and fundraise if they are under 3 years of age?
A: Yes, anyone of any age can register and fundraise for the Walk. We ask that everyone attending the walk be registered.
Q: Is there a minimum fundraising level?
A: No, however our goal, through the fundraising efforts of our participants, is to help fund programs and services offered by the Alzheimer Society of Toronto. We are confident that each participant can raise a minimum of $100 and are pleased to offer support/advice on exceeding your goal! Participants who fundraise will be eligible for fundraising rewards.
Q: Can we volunteer if we are walking?
A: Yes. The Walk has many volunteers who choose to help either before or after they have participated in the actual Walk. Contact firstname.lastname@example.org to find out more.
Q: Who will receive a tax receipt?
A: Tax receipts will be automatically issued for online donation amounts of $20 and over. All other tax receipts will be issued upon request. To receive a tax receipt, the donor’s name and address must be complete and legible.
Q: Can my family join and walk with my Organization's Team?
A: Yes, family members can register and join your “Organizational Team.” “Family Teams” are families, friends, caregivers or anyone who has been touched by Alzheimer’s disease or dementia.
