Webinar: Advances in Dementia Research - Updates on Diagnosis and Self-Care through Wearables and Molecular Technologies |
In this webinar, scientists from the Ontario Neurodegenerative Disease Research Initiative (ONDRI) will present recent updates related to their work in studying multiple diseases that can cause dementia. Details of the Health in Aging and Neurodegeneration in Dementias in Ontario (HANDDS-ONT) study will also be discussed. HANDDS-ONT uses the latest in wearables and molecular technologies to help understand and earlier detect how neurodegenerative diseases affect different people. You will have an opportunity to ask questions. About the Speakers: Dr. Richard Swartz, MD, Ph.D., principal investigator for HANDDS-ONT, is a Stroke Neurologist at Sunnybrook Health Science Centre and Associate Professor, Division of Neurology, Department of Medicine at the University of Toronto. Bill McIlroy, Ph.D., leads ONDRI’s Gait and Balance and Remote Monitoring platforms, and is a Professor in the Department of Kinesiology and Health Sciences, University of Waterloo Karen Van Ooteghem, Ph.D., is an ONDRI Affiliate Scientist and Research Assistant Professor in the Department of Kinesiology and Health Sciences, University of Waterloo.
