AST-BSO Front-Line Health Care Professional Education Sessions

In support of front line staff at this challenging time, in collaboration with Behaviour Support for Senior Program at TC-LHIN, we are offering a series of monthly Self Care sessions staff from various health and community sectors, to discuss the concept of Self Care and the important role it plays in managing the day-to-day stress associated with a Health Care Professional’s occupation.

Registration is required to receive Zoom link to participate.

Working as a Team:

Thursday, January 21 from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm

This session will highlight the various external care partners and the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration to improve the lives of residents living with dementia in long-term care homes.

Working with Anxious Caregivers:

Thursday, February 18 from 2:00 to 3:00 pm

This session will explore the role of Family/Friend Caregivers in Long-Term Care homes. We will examine the many challenges confronting these essential partners, given the pandemic, and how to best support them at this time. 

Grief and Loss:

Thursday, March 18 from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm

This session will cover the significant bonds that can be formed between a resident and Health Care Professional. It will also highlight the emotional impact that the death of a resident/patient can have on these individuals as a result of their connection.
