U-First! for Care Partners
Alzheimer Society of Toronto

Events

U-First! is an innovative and unique education program that helps to develop common knowledge, language, and approach to caring for people with behaviour changes due to dementia or other cognitive impairment, for all members of the care team by:

  • Understanding the person living with dementia and the meaning of behaviour changes and
  • Working as a team to find supports that work for that person.

This 6 hour program for care partners (family and friends) of people living with dementia or other cognitive impairment with behaviour changes, is designed to increase care partner confidence and capability in order to reduce responsive behaviours through use of the U-First! framework.

This is a pilot for the U-First! for care partners program being developed by the Alzheimer Society of Ontario. Participants will take part in the education program and be invited to share their feedback through surveys and interviews.
