Tamil Monthly Peer Support Group
The Hub, mid-Scarborough

Ambiguous Loss

In partnership with Alzheimer Society of Toronto (AST), Scarborough Centre for Healthy Communities (SCHC) is offering a unique peer-led support group for Tamil-speaking family members and friends caring for those with memory loss.

In this monthly support group, staff and trained volunteer facilitators will provide the opportunity to discuss the many challenges of caring for someone with memory loss, with others who understand.

Our goal is to:

  • Provide a safe and open environment for participants to share stories and learn techniques for improving quality of life.
  • Enhance caregiver’s knowledge of Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias, including available supports and coping strategies.

Group meet every 2nd Wednesday of the month:

Dates: October 9, November 13, December 11, January 15, February 12 and March 11

Time: 10:00 am to 12:00 pm

A light lunch will be provided.
