Webinar: Advances in Dementia Research: Updates on the Treatment of Agitation in Dementia |
Presented by Dr. Sanjeev Kumar, this webinar provides an overview of a study that aims to better understand and treat agitation in patients with Alzheimer’s disease (AD). Agitation affects many patients with dementia related to AD, and the medications used to treat these symptoms can cause several side effects.
The tTED study uses two non-invasive brain stimulation approaches. The first is transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS), which combined with electroencephalography (a test that measures electrical activity in the brain) will help researchers study the mechanisms that cause agitation in dementia. The second is transcranial direct current stimulation (tCDS), which is being evaluated as a treatment for agitation in dementia.
In this webinar, Dr. Kumar will first give a brief overview of agitation in dementia and its treatment, and then discuss details of the tTED study. You will have the opportunity to ask questions.
