Supportive Communication
West Lodge

Changes in communication occur in people with dementia. Learn to recognize these different ways of communication and understand how dementia affects a person's ability convey their thoughts and feelings. This workshop will also:

  • provide communication strategies recommended for use with people with dementia
  • help caregivers understand the benefits of validating a person's feelings when they are communicating
  • underline the importance of body language when communicating with a person with dementia
