City of Toronto Caregiver Day 2020: Celebrating the Resiliency of Caregivers (ONLINE)
ONLINE

Events
Family caregivers represent almost 30 per cent of Toronto’s population and provide compassionate care to a person or persons who need assistance due to a disability, a physical, neurological, or mental condition, a chronic illness, frailty, or age. These caregivers balance their personal lives and careers with their caregiving duties, which are unpaid and can be a full-time job in itself. COVID19 has created unanticipated challenges for many caregivers.

To celebrate the resiliency and spirit of caregivers during these unprecedented times, we invite you to join us online for the City of Toronto Caregiver Day on October 20, 2020. This year’s event will feature speakers from the health care industry and people with lived experience, presentations from community organizations as well as self-care activities, entertainment, and raffle prizes! Come for one session or stay for all! (Agenda with presentation topics will be available shortly).

Date: Tuesday, October 20, 2020

Time: 9:30 to 3:00pm

You will receive an agenda and access link to the event closer to the day.

Registration is required.

About Caregiver Day:
In January 2017, Toronto City Council passed a motion to proclaim April 3 as Family Caregiver Day. On this day, Toronto residents are encouraged to recognize the contribution of caregivers and to demonstrate their support and appreciation for their efforts. Caregiver Day is a day for connecting, learning, and hearing inspiring stories from fellow caregivers as well as have the opportunity to speak with health care professionals about services and resources available for Toronto caregivers.
