Understanding Behaviour and Supportive Communication

Changes in communication occur in people with dementia. Through this workshop you will learn to recognize these different ways of communication and understand how dementia affects a person's ability to convey their thoughts and feelings. This workshop will also:

  • provide communication strategies recommended for use with people with dementia
  • help caregivers understand the benefits of validating a person's feelings when they are communicating
  • underline the importance of body language when communicating with a person with dementia

 COST: FREE, registration is required.
