In-Person Programming


Many programs have safely resumed to in-person formats.  Education, support and Minds in Motions groups are being held in select communities throughout Simcoe County  We provide a mask friendly environment and have continued with physical distancing measures to ensure our clients feel safe in participating in face-to-face groups. Explore Common Symptoms


There are many common symptoms of dementia that people may experience, regardless of their actual diagnosis.  This weekly series takes an in-depth look at each “A” (symptom) to understand the change and how to strategies that can be used to help manage that symptom.  Sessions will be held Wednesdays, September 14, 21, 28 & October 5 from 6:30 8:00 p.m by Zoom. 

World Alzheimer’s Day


September 21st is World Alzheimer’s Day, an internationally recognized day which generates awareness and support for individuals living with Alzheimer’s Disease, their families, and their care partners. This World Alzheimer’s Day, join us in showing our support for the 10,500 individuals living with dementia in Simcoe County. ASSC is selling luminaries to light up Simcoe County blue for World Alzheimer’s Day! Luminaries will be available at ASSC’s office in Barrie, or at select local partners. Deb is one of our incredible volunteers who works alongside our staff to provide critical presentations and other education to Simcoe County. After the loss of her mother-in-law Myrtle, Deb was motivated to join us in providing support to individuals living with dementia, their families, and their care partners.
